Statistics* show a sobering picture of failed New Year's resolutions: Over 80% of resolutions fail. ⛔
Main reasons are lack of specificity, missing internal motivation, unrealistic self-expectations, negative goal formulation, and lack of concrete planning.🚧
So is it all nonsense, isn'it?🤐
Of course not...
With small adjustments, anyone can achieve sustainable change: 🛫
Focus on realistic goal setting
Less is more
Answer the WHY for yourself
Set concrete planning/steps
Mind the balance between ambition and feasibility
💡Please find below examples how to do, i.e.:
Realistic Goal Setting (SMART principle)
Specific: "30 min swimming every Tuesday" instead of "more sports"
Measurable: Track progress
Set intermediate goals etc.
Prioritization
Pursue maximum 2-3 important goals in parallel
Realistically assess resources and available time
Focus on core areas with greatest leverage
The Why - check motivation
Why do I want this change?
Who am I doing this for?
What will be different when I achieve the goal?
How does it feel?
Concrete Implementation Strategies
Establish micro-habits
Set up goal-supporting environment
Get support
Create Plan B for difficult situations
Introduce regular reflection routine
Balance between Ambition and Feasibility
Consider personal performance curve
Schedule breaks
Recognize stress signals early
Apply 80/20 rule, avoid perfectionism
Regularly review and adjust goals if it becomes too much
Celebrate successes and learn from setbacks; probably the most difficult part

For me personally, the focus for the coming year is on "balance between ambition and feasibility" in these areas:
Weight loss (yes guilty, the AI LinkedIn profile picture is now even more unrealistic)
More (intense) time for/with my loved ones
Professionally grow sustainably and profitably in my self-employment
What do you want to change sustainably and what helps you with that?
